IRCTC eCatering – Food on Track is the official app by Indian Railways for delivering fresh, hygienic meals directly to your train seat. Whether you’re craving local specialties, biryani, pizza, or snacks, the app offers a wide range of options from FSSAI-certified restaurants at over 300 stations across India.

IRCTC (Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation) is a government-owned enterprise under Indian Railways. It manages one of the largest railway networks in the world and provides millions of passengers with travel and catering services every day. The organization wanted to simplify meal ordering for travelers by creating an official food-delivery app integrated directly with live train routes.
Approach
Five Talents was chosen to bring this vision to life through a scalable and intuitive mobile solution. Our goal was to design an app that worked seamlessly even in low-network areas, supported thousands of concurrent users, and provided a smooth, trust-based experience for passengers and restaurant partners alike.
We focused on three pillars:
